Women’s Basketball First Semester Recap!
The Lady Lions finished the first semester with a record of 5–9. Despite being below .500, the Lady Lions have shown promise and potential.
The Lady Lions had a tough start to the season, traveling to Dubuque, Iowa, for the Emmaus Tip-Off Classic while shorthanded due to several players competing in the regional volleyball tournament. The team suffered a tough loss to Emmaus, 90–44, but bounced back the following day with a 52–48 win over Grace Christian College.
The Lady Lions competed hard but suffered some close losses against strong NCAA Division III opponents. They truly showed their potential at the Faith Classic in Ankeny, Iowa, where the team went 3–0 on the weekend, defeating Manhattan Christian, Faith Baptist, and Central Christian College.
Unfortunately, the Lady Lions lost their final game of the semester to Welch College. Overall, the Lady Lions showed significant potential in the first semester and will continue to improve in the second semester as they prepare for conference and regional tournaments.
The team will return to action on January 16 against conference and region opponent Providence University Pilots.
