Lions WXC Thurber Finishes 2nd and Seidel Qualifies for Nationals

The Lions Women's Cross Country team sent four runners to the Eagles Invite at Faith Baptist Bible College this past weekend, where there was five NCCAA DII schools represented, Faith Baptist Bible College, Maranatha Baptist University, Barclay College, Oak Hills Christian College and Trinity bible College. Freshman Chloe Thurber finished in 2^nd place and posted the fastest time for the Lions 21:40 finishing just 8 seconds behind the winner. Senior Rachel Seidel finished with a time of 24:10 which qualifies her for the NCCAA Nationals meet in November. Sophomore Rachel Church finished in 9^th place with a time of 25:38 and freshman runner Arianna Bigart finished with a time of 26:46 in 11^th place.

The Lions Men's Cross Country team sent a full team of five runners to the Eagles Invite at Faith Baptist Bible College this past weekend, where there was five NCCAA DII schools represented, Faith Baptist Bible College, Maranatha Baptist University, Barclay College, Oak Hills Christian College and Trinity bible College Freshman runner Kaleb Renfro finished in 7^th place with a time of 33:49. Sophomore Sam Jacob finished in 11^th place with a time of 37:26, while freshman Sam Maruszewski ran a time of 37:26 placing in 14^th. Freshman runner Michael Waldner finished with a time of 40:56 in 20^th  and Freshman Marcus Staley finished with a time of 49:41 in 27^th.

NOTES                                      
- Chloe Thurber's time of 21:40 finished 2^nd place just 8 seconds behind the winner.
- Kaleb Renfro finished in 7^th place for the men just a few minutes behind the winner.
-Rachel Seidel is the 2^nd runner form the women's team and the 3^rd Lions runner this year to qualifying for NCCAA Nationals.
