Lady Lions Avoid Upset and Advance


The Lions were able to jump out to an early lead in the beginning of the first quarter going on a 12 to 4 run.

The Warriors wouldn't fold as they battled back in the second only being down by as much as five points; however, the Lions were able to pull away again right before half bring the score deficit back into the double digits.

The Lions would go into half-time up 12; Lions 29 Warriors 17.

The Lions seemed to have complete control of this game until the second half began and the Warriors looked to get back in it.

The Warriors ate away at the lead little by little and in a huge fourth quarter for them they outscored the Lions 25 to 19.

Emma Logan makes the second of her two free throws which brings the Lions to a 3 point lead with 5 seconds left on the clock.

The Warriors would miss the game tying three, but get the 2 point put back at the buzzer.

The Lady Lions avoided the upset and go on to win 61-60 over the Calvary Warriors.


- The Lions shot 37 percent from the field (21/56), 25 percent on 3's (1-4) and 64 percent on FT's (18/28).

- The Warriors shot 32 percent from the field (21/64), 23 percent on 3's (6/26) and 85 percent on FT's (12/14).

-The Lions had 14 offensive rebounds to the Warriors 12.

-The Lions had 23 turnovers to the Warriors 21.

-Emma Logan led the Lions with an impressive double-double of 30 points and 16 rebounds.

-Shaylyn Steinheuser added 13 points and 9 rebounds.

-Chambre Droste chipped in with a near double-double of 9 points and 9 rebounds.
